Why Didn't I Major in Finance?

When I woke up at 7am because my left hand was numb (from my knee being on it) somehow I started thinking about budgeting. Who wakes up at 7am and thinks of budgets? And the crazier part is, I wasn't even thinking about my own.
As a background to this story: A guy I work with was telling me about some credit card debt his family managed to put onto his card that he now has to pay off. Plus he's trying to move into his own apartment closer to work.
So when I woke up, I kept thinking about all the random crazy things I would want to tell him about: a budget, online savings account, free samples, an emergency fund, everything. The biggest thing was I wanted to know what the APR was so I could tell him, "You know you can call the credit card company and negotiate with them - and if they won't help then try to transfer it to another card who will."
Then I started thinking about how I'd like to work at a bank and help people manage their finances. Somehow I love this kind of thing - but didn't know it until about eight months ago. Which is about when I started this blog.
If I had all the money in the world, I'd go right back to school and do finance. Since I'm in debt, poor, and don't have a job lined up yet, that won't happen.
I don't know what the moral of the story is. I think I just felt like ranting at my crazy self.
