College of Cash - finding money for college

Saturday Links 1/19/08

January 19th 2008 12:38
Welcome to the links on a Saturday. The last time I did the links, I still didn't have a job, so there weren't any posts to other good PF bloggers. This week is different (yay!) so let's get to the links...

There are two links from Blogging Away Debt this week. The first one is a debt related project being done by a photographer. She's looking for people to participate in her project. So you might want to check that out, especially if you live in the NYC area.

The other one is about credit being handed out more freely in America than in other countries. It started because of a comment from one of her readers in Australia. It's always interesting to me how things can be so different from one place to another.

Paid Twice explains about creating ING subaccounts. I like my ING, but I keep all of mine in one account there and keep track of different things I want to use it for in Excel. I wrote about many of the online banks a while ago - although they've all since changed their interest rates.

The last link comes from Advanced Personal Finance and his short post "Worst... Investment... Ever." I laughed.

That's it for this week. Enjoy reading!

The Friday Links for Jan. 11th

January 11th 2008 12:09
Apparently, I was really in the mood for free money this week. Three posts about scholarships! First nelnet, then the bank ones, and then CKSF scholarship.

I only have a couple of links this week because I'm still searching for a job.

The first one is the Carnival of Money Stories. I participated there with my post of the After-Graduation Job Search.

The other link is from Get Rich Slowly. It's The Value of a College Education. My favorite part of that post was Cindy Crawford's degree.

Have a good weekend!

Well, I haven't been doing much on the internet lately except looking for a job. However, I do have a link to the second Carnival of Financial Goals. I was included with my post "New Year's Financial Resolutions."

I also made goals specifically for this month that you can check out.

For some other good reading you should check out the blogroll to the left!

The Friday Links for Dec. 14th

December 14th 2007 15:34
There are lots of interesting links from this week. I hope you enjoy them!

This week I participated in the Carnival of Money Stories at Cash Money Life with my "Too Many Bank Accounts Cut Down to Size" post. I happened to read a few of the other posts before they were even in the carnival. You should definitely go check it out.

As for other links, Blogging Away Debt had two interesting posts this week. One is about someone who faked his death to get out of debt. The other I really like. It is a list of sites that will help others in need get free items - like rice or mammograms. I'm definitely keeping that page bookmarked. Apparently, you can just click on a link at each page, and that's all you do to help. Even a poor college kid can do that!

This last link just made me laugh when I read it, so I'm inclulding it. Mrs. Micah brings us a public service announcement that Condoms Break! So be careful! haha

I hope you enjoy the links from this week and your weekend. I'll be doing the rest of the moving to my apartment today!

The Friday Links for Dec. 6th

December 7th 2007 13:05
That's right, no updates today.

As I mentioned last Friday there was a new blog carnival. So, of course I participated. The inaugural Carnival of Financial Goals was posted at Cash Money Life. I was included under the "Net Worth" category with my December Goals.

You should definitely check it out. It's interesting to see what other people's goals are.

One Frugal Girl is frustrated with the rise and fall of prices during the holiday season. I don't blame her. Although, this is why I go with gift cards for other people, and don't buy anything for myself! haha

Chasing the "It" toy at Christmastime at The Simple Dollar amused me mostly because I got a Tickle Me Elmo the year he talks about. (Yes, I was probably in the 6th grade or something, oh well). I liked Elmo at the time. After that I also ended up with the Chicken Dance Elmo (hilarious when it's annoying someone else), and the Rock 'n Roll Elmo (my favorite).

Now that you think I'm crazy, I think I'll stop the links here. Enjoy!

The update today is this: I still haven't gotten to categorize all the posts yet. This probably won't happen until a week or two from now. Either during finals week or after graduation. So look forward to that. Oh, and another scholarship may be posted this weekend. If not, look for it sometime next week!

I didn't participate in any carnivals this week either. But I've still found some good links

The update for today? My birthday is on Sunday! I actually got most of my "presents" already - all of which was checks or cash.

Oh, and I still haven't gotten through all my old posts to categorize them. Hopefully that will happen soon

So either the sickness came back, or it never left. Either way I'm sick of being sick.

I hope you enjoy the links today. I don't know that there are really any updates. I'm still working on getting all of the posts categorized, but that's about it

A quick update: you may have noticed to the left that I now have categories that you can click on to get to posts under that specific topic! Not all of the posts have been categorized yet, but I'm getting there.

Now for the links

Well, I can't believe it's already November. This semester is going by extremely fast. But I would like to apologize for the lack of posting this week - I wasn't feeling well and was behind in my homework, so that ended up coming first. Next week I should be back to normal though!

As for the links
