The Friday Links and Updates for Nov. 9th
November 9th 2007 15:29
A quick update: you may have noticed to the left that I now have categories that you can click on to get to posts under that specific topic! Not all of the posts have been categorized yet, but I'm getting there.
Now for the links...
(From the Carnival of Personal Finance)
What to do when you're short on rent at Money Under 30 was interesting. I hope I am never in that situation! I have an EF already, and I know I could borrow from the parents if need be - so most likely I wouldn't find myself in that tangled web.
A free haircut is always a super cut at Jlogged shares her story on why she stopped going to the salon. (Basically, it's extremely expensive). I cut my own hair whenever I feel like it's too long. I figure if I mess it up it will always grow back - hey it's just hair.
Goosing emergency fund earnings at Advanced Personal Finance made some good points. An emergency fund is for easy reach in case of an emergency - it's not for making money. I came to the same conclusion about a week or so ago when ING dropped their rates again. I thought about transferring to a new site, but figured I like the way ING looks, it's easy, and .4 or .5% is not that big of a deal to me.

Is there anything wrong with taking full advantage of a generous return policy? at Money Blue Book made me angry. Mostly because I worked in retail for 4.5 years and people would bring the most ridiculous stuff back to return. No, you did not just buy that hat yesterday because it looks like a pig wore it in his sty for a year.
(From the Festival of Frugality)
Cheap vs. Frugality lessons from "Friends" at FILAM Personal Finance makes me laugh. I remember that episode. Although I seriously hope no one does this in real life. It's along the same lines as the post above.
Wow! Lots of links today, and I would have posted more but I figured you might have checked out the carnivals yourself already. If you didn't then you should.
Happy reading!
