College of Cash - finding money for college

OP Loftbed Scholarship

May 16th 2008 10:58
This is a scholarship I've applied for myself in the past. (Since I'm no longer a student I can't apply for anymore free money. How sad). Anyway, this scholarship is completely online. Go check it out.

There is a little bit of writing involved in this one. They ask you interesting questions, and you have to respond in a certain number of words. (Usually something like 50-150). Make sure you read the rules on this one!

Entries must be in by July 31st, 2008. After that you'll have to wait until next year for a new one.

Oh, and the most important part, it's for $500.

Good luck!

The Immigration Illustration Scholarship is going on until July 17th, 2008.

There are three different winners for this scholarship. One is the grand prize winner who gets $500 and one of those camera printers. The second gets $400 and a camera printer, and the third will get $100 scholarship or cash.

Check out that first link for all the information you'll need. Here are ocnum=1" target="_blank">the rules as well.

Good luck!

Create a Greeting Card Scholarship

April 16th 2008 10:12
If there are any artsy people out there, you might enjoy this scholarship. You create a greeting card and can win $10,000. That seems pretty nice for making something fun.

You only get one entry, but this scholarship contest doesn't end until Jan. 15, 2009. So you have plenty of time to make it perfect. Oh, and you only need to design the front of a card it said. Here are the rules that you should check out yourself.

Good luck!

Saturday Links for 3/29/08

March 29th 2008 10:33
Once again I had forgotten to submit my posts to the carnivals. But I got some laundry done last weekend when I would have been submitting articles, so at least I was productive!

As for the links...

English Major talks about some of her early money memories. Do you have any? I used to have separate things to keep pennies, nickels and dimes, and then quarters. I always liked to roll my own coins as well.

Paid Twice talks about saving $2000 every year in your 20s and how she wishes she would have kept it up. I wish I could start!

If you weren't here yesterday, I listed some more scholarships. I hadn't done that in a while and figured it was due. If you visit the scholarship opportunities post, you'll also see that I have listed the scholarships in order by when they end.

Enjoy the weekend!

Two Brickfish Scholarships Open

February 27th 2008 11:22
I won't be listing as many details to the scholarships because I figure if you know how to get to this site, you know how to read a webpage yourself. So I will list them and link to them and maybe put how much they are worth.

The first is "I Can't Live Without My..." Scholarship

HAMSA's Dream Deferred Essay Contest

February 8th 2008 11:16
I think it's about time for another scholarship. I hope you find this one interesting and worth your time doing.

It's one of the "Dream Deferred" Essay Contests. This one is on Civil Rights in the Middle East. For this essay, there are six questions. Three are for if you live in the Middle East and the other three are for those who live in the United States. You only need to answer one question

Now this Brickfish scholarship looks like a fun one. You have to submit a video essay describing why you deserve $1,000. I think I could do that quite well!

Anyway, this one is pretty simple, as stated above. Brickfish then picks the $1,000 winner from the top 100 ranked videos. Since this one only started a couple weeks ago, it shouldn't be too hard to catch up. Just tell all your friends to go vote for you. Oh, and apparently you can enter more than once (with different videos

On the main page of the Templeton Fellowships Essay contest you can find the links to everything else you would need for this fellowship/scholarship application. The topic is at the top of the main page as well.

This is the topic: "Are property rights human rights? How are they related? What are their similarities and differences? If property rights are human rights, why have they enjoyed fewer legal protections and intellectual champions than other human rights?" There is a quote directly above this, so you should definitely check out the main page for yourself
