Curb Your Consumer Debt
July 17th 2007 12:54
Want to know the best way to curb your consumer debt and start saving? Work in retail!
I do. I'm at the mall almost every day and never spend a dime. When I have days off, there is no way I want to go back to the mall.
This works really well as an only job or even a second job. As your only job you'll be there more often and get sick of being there quicker. As a second job, you'll be making extra cash and never wanting to be at a mall. Therefore, you won't be tempted to spend.
This is how I feel after working so long in retail (and I'm only a part-timer). I love my job, but I just don't want to be there on my day off. More proof? I've only spent $15 this year on clothing and that was on four more shirts that I could wear to work!
It's just a thought. Happy saving!
