College List (pt. 5)

In an attempt to be the most helpful site in affording college, I will be doing a continuing piece on specific colleges and universities in the United States and their scholarships/websites. (I will try hitting ones outside of the US at a later time). My brief summary of each will include a link to their financial aid page as well as other information I think may be helpful.
I plan on going in alphabetical order by state, and then in alphabetical order by the colleges in the state. I will be covering Divisions I, II, and III because every student has different needs. Each piece will cover at least one college from each Division.
Division I:
Troy University: This is their main financial aid page with links to forms, cost of attendance, statistics, etc. It took a while before I could actually find their scholarship page. (It’s to the left; hold your mouse over “types of aid”). From the “Types of Aid” you can also find lists of lenders and information on work study. They have a cost of attendance page (in PDF), but it doesn’t make much sense because it all includes a “room and board” amount and they all equal the same amount for the year whether you commute or live on campus.
University of Alabama Birmingham: This appears to be their main financial aid page. To the right they have “Secondary Links” that include cost, employment, and scholarships. The specific list of scholarships can be found here. The first link explains how you apply (which is basically just being accepted into the university).
Division II:
University of Alaska Fairbanks: Here is their main financial aid page. There they have links for scholarships, loans, grants, etc (to the right). Tuition and fees can be found here. They have a reduced tuition for students from certain western states that can be seen under “WUE” on the tuition page. The states that participate can be found here (they are to the left).
Grand Canyon University: This is a faith based school in Arizona. There isn’t much to their website (until you click on myGCU). The tuition and fees can be found here. It took a lot of searching but they do have a main financial aid page and scholarships can be found by clicking "Scholarships/Grants" to the left.
Division III:
California State University – East Bay: Right on their main page they have a link to the left for “Financial Aid and Scholarships;” that is the kind of school I like. From that page there is another link to scholarships. There is also work study money to be found here. Tuition information can be found here.
Advice from my own personal experience:
** Schedule a campus visit!!
** Send an email to the school and see how quickly and efficiently they respond. This will be an indicator of how they will be once you're there.
