College of Cash - finding money for college

I'm doing the update first. I've been meaning to mention it for two weeks I think. I will be hosing the February 19th edition of the Carnival of Money Stories! Yay! I haven't hosted a carnival before, but it should be fun. So be on the lookout for that!

As for the links, there are quite a few good ones this week, but I'm keeping my list to four. The first two I will probably be writing my own extension of next week. Well, actually, one might turn into a regular post if it keeps me on track! So let's get on with it...

The first one is from Mrs. Micah about not spending money on new clothes they can't afford. I definitely know the feeling. This is one of the posts I'll be expanding on later.

The next link (that inspired me to start my own that may turn into a regular post) is from Paid Twice. Her post was When the Grocery List is Longer than Your Arm. Since I only have to buy for myself that shouldn't be happening to me. But we'll see. My grocery list is quite long for next month already.

One post I just found interesting was On the Silver Spoon Itself at An English Major's Money. I've always thought that lots of money made people act a little... different. She gives the example of her aunt. I think my favorite part had to be the spoiled meat. eww! haha

And finally something I found randomly on Yahoo! that you may have already seen... Starbucks and the $1 coffee (and free refills)! I didn't think that was possible anymore. Well, apparently it's a trial run and only in one city. We'll see how long that lasts. I don't even drink coffee, but maybe some of you do. I'll cross my fingers for you that they spread it to other cities.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Enjoy the reading!

The Friday Links on a Saturday

January 5th 2008 13:29
Well, I haven't been doing much on the internet lately except looking for a job. However, I do have a link to the second Carnival of Financial Goals. I was included with my post "New Year's Financial Resolutions."

I also made goals specifically for this month that you can check out.

For some other good reading you should check out the blogroll to the left!

The Carnivals

December 19th 2007 16:26
I will probably be driving back to my hometown on Friday and not near a computer. So I'm putting the carnivals up today instead of in the friday links that may not happen

I participated in two carnivals this week. One was the Carnival of Personal Finance. I submitted Sell Books Back or Keep Them? The other was the Carnival of Money Stories. However, my computer won't let me get to that site. I'll try a few more times so I can link to it later. (I had submitted Why Didn't I Major in Finance to that carnival).

I should have a survey earnings update ready for tomorrow as well. So Friday might end up being the only day I miss!

Happy Wednesday!

Two Carnivals and a Festival this week

November 6th 2007 17:13
I participated in the Carnival of Personal Finance (which happened Monday), the Carnival of Money Stories, and the Festival of Frugality this week!

First off, the Carnival of Personal Finance was over at My Two Dollars. That included my "When Money Isn't Everything" post.

Next up, the Carnival of Money Stories is at Moolamoney this week. I sent in "How Much Work is Too Much?" to that one.

And finally, the Festival of Frugality is at I've Paid for This Twice Already. My "Halloween on the Cheap" was included there.

There is lots of reading for you all to do! The ones I like I'll link to in Friday's links.

Tuesday Carnival!

I participated in the Carnival of Money Stories over at Stop the Ride. My post "Too Many Bank Accounts" was included.

I think you also need to check out Unclaimed Money's "Keeping Christmas Spending Under Control." I definitely need to watch my spending since I don't know when I will find a full-time job after graduation!

Go to the carnival yourself to check out all the other stories!

PF carnival = Two Monday Posts

August 27th 2007 18:54
I only participated in one carnival this week, and that was the Carnival of Personal Finance. Since last weeks festival didn't include the right post, I submitted Free Books Online to this carnival.

After I try and get some actual homework done, I'll see if there is anything I think would be helpful to post here! Of course, you should always go and check it out yourself
